Medical Assistant St. Paul

Seeking a MA for our surgical specialty practice!  1983 Sloan Place near 35 E and Roselawn Avenue, on the border of Maplewood.
This is a Long Term Temporary assignment at 40 hours per week beginning July 2017 to January 2018
Wage commensurate with experience, starting at $15.00 and up, 
Mon – Fri. (no evenings/ weekends). Hours range between 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., most typical hours would be 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

In this challenging and fast paced position, you will work directly with our providers in our colorectal clinics.
Primary Duties: 
  • Exam room set up, and rooming of patients
  • Assist physicians with pre/post op appointments and procedures in a sterile environment
  • Answer busy clinic phones, schedule office appointments, make patient reminder calls
  • Support patient charting utilizing NextGen EMR
  • Must be willing to travel to clinic/satellite location as needed
 Requirements include:
  • Diploma or equivalent as a Medical Assistant.
  • 1 year recent Medical Assistant experience in a medical clinic setting (preferred). 
  • Superior communication skills, detailed oriented, excellent direct patient care skills as well as the ability to remain professional, upbeat and positive in a busy clinic environment. 
  • Clear understanding of HIPAA standards and patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent driving record, current valid driver's license and ability to travel between clinics in a reliable and efficient manner.
  • Experience with NextGen EMR a plus. 
  • Ability to be flexible with scheduled work hours in order to meet clinic needs
  • BLS and CPR certification
Physical/Mental Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following (not an all-inclusive list):
  • Sit or stand for prolonged periods.
  •  Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and walk (including walking quickly when necessary).
  • Assist in the safe transfer of up to 50 pounds.
  • Understand and respond to a diverse population.
  • Perform repetitive motion activities including computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Utilize visual, auditory, verbal, and olfactory processes required to assess, monitor, and care for patients.
  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to tolerate protective equipment including; gowns, gloves, facial masks, and eye protection.
