Registered Nurse – Women’s Health


Colon and Rectal Surgery Associates, Ltd. seeks a full time Registered Nurse to specialize in Women’s Health and Biofeedback Therapy.  

At our nationally recognized Pelvic Floor Center (PFC), we offer a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care and the diagnosis of pelvic floor disorders. We are proud to have leading specialists in the areas of colon and rectal surgery, urogynecology, and biofeedback on staff. We offer advanced treatment options and an individualized, comprehensive treatment approach to every patient we see.

As a PFC RN, duties will include assisting MD’s in the delivery of care, conduct testing, and provide pelvic floor muscle retraining for patients with conditions such as fecal incontinence, constipation and pelvic pain. You will work collaboratively with patients to enhance their health, lifestyle and well-being.  Previous Biofeedback experience preferred but not required, we will provide biofeedback training as needed.

Additional Duties of the Women’s Health Registered Nurse

  • Deliver patient care and assist MD’s in procedures through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. 
  • Direct and coordinate nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
  • Provide professional patient care utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with the patient and families. Assist with testing and extensive patient education.
  • Interpret biofeedback testing data during delivery of patient care and provide patient feedback on test results

Requirements of the Women’s Health Registered Nurse include but are not limited to: 

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 
  • Current Registered Nurse license within the State of Minnesota
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years patient care experience in a clinic/hospital setting. Nursing experience in Colorectal, OB/GYN, GI or Urology a plus.
  • Experience working with pelvic pain patients a plus.
  • Requires willingness to learn about pelvic floor testing and biofeedback
  • Proven patient education skills and interest in working one-on-one with patients to gain positive outcomes. 
  • Ability to effectively establish rapport and provide clinical treatment to patients of all ages and genders. 
  • Requires excellent patient communication and teamwork skills to work as part of a multi-specialty team.
  • Must have superior communication, computer and documentation skills. Experience with the NextGen Electronic Health Record or Practice Management system a plus.
  • Demonstrated desire and ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to counsel patients regarding nutrition, relaxation strategies, proper pelvic floor exercise techniques and other lifestyle factors
  • Maintain CPR Certification
  • Must have clear understanding of HIPAA standards and patient confidentiality.
  • This position requires travel between clinic sites. Candidates must have valid Driver’s license and ability to travel between locations in a reliable and efficient manner.
  • BCIA certification a plus, however CRSAL will  train a qualified candidate

  • Sit or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and walk (including walking quickly when necessary).
  • Assist in the safe transfer of up to 50 pounds.
  • Understand and respond to a diverse population.
  • Perform repetitive motion activities including computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Utilize visual, auditory, verbal, and olfactory processes required to assess, monitor, and care for patients.
  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously

The Pelvic Floor Center, a premier facility in the nation, focuses on the in-depth assessment and treatment of pelvic floor issues.  The staff provides accurate assessment and options for proper treatment to over 400 patients a month.

The physicians of Colon and Rectal Surgery Associates established the first anorectal physiology laboratory in the Twin Cities in 1980.  In 2000, the Pelvic Floor Center was established as a freestanding clinic.  The laboratory and the treatments continued to evolve; recent additions include sophisticated ultrasound technology, expertise in biofeedback and increased participation in clinical trials.  The Pelvic Floor Center (PFC) continues to grow and expand its multidisciplinary treatment of pelvic floor problems to provide optimal outcomes for our patients.
