Patient Scheduler Minneapolis


Seeking an experienced Patient Scheduler for surgical specialty practice named a Top Workplace in 2016 and 2017!  2800 Chicago Avenue near Abbott Northwestern hospital in Minneapolis. This full time position is regularly scheduled for 40 hours per week.  Typical hours 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. 

In this challenging position, you will work in a clinic environment communicating with our patients over the phone.  Tasks will include scheduling appointments and procedures as well as triaging patient questions. 


  • This is a phone based, heavy patient contact position,
  • Answer busy clinic phones, triaging calls and routing calls or scheduling appointments or procedures as appropriate 
  • Schedule clinic appointments and procedures within NextGen EMR system in an efficient and accurate manner 
  • Document within patient NextGen record 
  • Occasionally back up clinic staff as requested (e.g. exam room turnover) and back up front desk coordinator with patient check in activities as needed 

Requirements include:  

  • Experience working within NextGen EMR system preferred.  
  • Past experience working in a EMR environment required. 
  • Requires a minimum of 1 year recent Medical Receptionist or Medical Scheduling  experience 
  • Superior communication skills and high attention to detail/accuracy. 
  • Ability to help create positive patient experiences over the phone. 
  • Maintain  professional,  upbeat  and  positive communication within  a  busy  clinic  environment
  • Ability to be flexible with scheduled work hours in order to meet clinic needs
  • Willingness to be cross –trained to assist with other clinic tasks and duties as assigned.
  • This clinic position requires evidence of TB screening within one year prior to start date
