Medical Assistant - Edina or Minneapolis

Requires MA Diploma required or equivalent training / military certification; does not require CMA. Minimum 1-2 years medical clinic and EMR experience (NextGen preferred)

Typical schedule Mon-Fri. 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., may range from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

After 6 months may be eligible for flexible scheduling. 

Prefer candidates willing to float to other locations.

Medical Assistant Primary Duties:

  • Exam room set up, Room patients
  • Assist with pre/post op appointments and procedures
  • Respond to busy clinic phones, schedule office appointments, make patient reminder calls
  • Patient charting using NextGen EMR
  • Willing to float and travel to other metro area locations as needed.

Medical Assistant Requirements include:

  • Diploma or equivalent as a Medical Assistant
  • 1-2 year recent Medical Assistant experience in a medical clinic setting.
  • Superior communication skills, detailed oriented, excellent direct patient care skills as well as the ability to remain professional, upbeat and positive in a busy clinic environment.
  • Clear understanding of HIPAA standards and patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent driving record, current valid driver's license and ability to travel between clinics in a reliable and efficient manner.
  • Ability to be flexible with scheduled work hours in order to meet clinic needs

Physical/Mental Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following (not an all-inclusive list):

  • Sit or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and walk (including walking quickly when necessary).
  • Assist in the safe transfer of up to 50 pounds.
  • Understand and respond to a diverse population.
  • Perform repetitive motion activities including computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Utilize visual, auditory, verbal, and olfactory processes required to assess, monitor, and care for patients.
  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to tolerate protective equipment including; gowns, gloves, facial masks, and eye protection.
