CRSAL physicians are not only experts within their field, they also train the next generation of colorectal surgeons. Through our partnership with the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery, University of Minnesota, and the Minnesota Colon and Rectal Foundation, CRSAL has trained more than 170 colon and rectal surgeons.
The fellowship program is the oldest and one of the most highly regarded in the world with applicants from several continents. Each year, as many as five general surgeons train in this program to gain expertise in the specialty of colon and rectal surgery. Residents are Board Eligible and spend the majority of their academic year working under direct faculty supervision in our CRSAL practice. Many have gone on to prominent teaching positions in various departments of surgery all over the world.
Thanks to this dedication to the highest level of specialty training, we stay abreast of the latest diagnostics and treatments within this continuously expanding field, enabling optimal care for our patients.
