Alternative Screening Recommendations

Beginning at age 50, recommended double contrast barium enema every 5-10 years or a colonoscopy every 10 years. Please discuss screening options with your physician. Together you will decide on a screening program that is right for you. You may want to check with your insurance company regarding coverage for screening procedures.

REMEMBER!
Screening recommendations are ONLY for individuals who have no symptoms. If you are currently experiencing a persistent change in bowel habits, bleeding with bowel movements, and/or abdominal pain, consult your physician immediately.
